do you really believe that the other 30+ industrialized countries with single payer don't have additional available insurance and medical services for millionaires like Bernie?

Name one of those thirty countries that would similarly provide RBG with orphaned infants to harvest stem cells from to prolong her term indefinitely until such time that a (D) returns to power and she can fall into the sweet, sweet relief of the ever-after that she's been yearning for.

This topic comes up frequently when I visit with my European colleagues - they all have additional plans or visit cash private hospitals. that is, they have one level of care for the masses including the poor and the middle class and another for the rich.
Right now, most of us in this country (with exception of a small minority of poor) receive the same level of care. That will change under the proposals. Most of us in this forum will have reduced care while its true that the poorest will gain. The rich will be fine regardless.

Of health care systems of developed countries. Comparisons on the following may be insightful....
Mental health - suicide rates, murder rates, drug addiction / overdose fatalities, violent crime rates.
Physical health - infant mortality, life expectancy, obesity percentages
Average Health care cost per citizen
Please get back with me. TIA.

They choose a gold-level Obamacare policy and receive federal subsidies that cover 72 percent of the cost of the premiums.

Were you aware of that when you asked the question?

That's a good question Alex and my answer is that I don't know, I haven't seen the details but I think it's worth everyone looking at and then make a decision.
My 16 yr old son suddenly started having seizures last November. When he was unconscious being loaded into the ambulance I didn't care what it cost, I just wanted them to help him. My wife was hysterical and sooo fearful. We were desperate for someone to help him, we were so afraid.
Unfortunately the ambulance took him to a hospital that wasn't in network with my insurance. We had no idea until a lady at the hospital told us 3 days later when he was released (he had a form of meningitis that caused more seizures but his treatment went well and is ok now.)
When I got the bill for $36,000 I was stunned. My wife and I felt taken advantage of. $12,000 a day, and that was the overage that my insurance didn't pay. Hospitals have great providers and clinicians that really care about helping people....but they don't handle the billing, the accountants and the lawyers do. It's why 65% of all personal bankruptcies are because of medical bills.
It's not a liberal vs conservative or Dem vs Rep. issue. If someone in your family suddenly gets hurt or sick, the Hospital corporations are going do a dance on your head financially. Google 'air ambulance costs' sometime. In some cases they were charging $60,000 to transport a severely injured person to a hospital. It's financial rape at the worst moment of your life.
I don't know if Medicare for All is viable or not. But I do know that our current healthcare system is ludicrous and has to be addressed. They can charge you anything they like, and they do.

four years ago he was born 6 weeks early (that is he could have been legally aborted according to many in this forum but that's another story). The delivery and the resulting hospital stay in the Level 4 NICU was extremely expensive counting in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I've always said what we have is a cost problem, not a coverage problem. And it sounds like that's what you experienced as well. There are very few people without means who arent covered and for those without means that can be dealt with via medicaid and the like. The problem you evidenced might not have even been solved by Medicare for all if the doctors or hospitals didnt take medicare. My rheumatologist for instance doesnt take medicare or Medicaid.

No matter what system you devise, wealthy people will always have tons more resources. It’s a ridiculous argument.
Here’s a better idea though: What if we paid people not to go to the doctor? For every month you avoid hospital or doctor, you get a deposit into an HSA. Then when you need it, you can shop for services with your money.
It would incentivize everyone to be more responsible for their health.

It's also true that billionaires are going to share their wealth with the welfare class so that both enjoy the wealth.
