Ben's not only tough, he's really intelligent, too.

Agreed. From all we've heard he was a 4.0 student. Maybe he finally hit a snag as most kids do. So proud of him, though, along with the rest of the team. They are a lot smarter, as a whole, than we ever were.

Could be above a 3.0 but not make the list if the other QBs

have higher GPAs I believe

I'm a little confused

If the requirements are that the student-athlete must have an overall 3.0 GPA (for undergrads) and must have had a 3.0 GPA during the fall semester, that means that he must be consistently a B-or-better student. So does that mean that only two undergraduate football players are B-or-better students? I mean, I'm amazed that any of them can graduate given all the time they spend practicing, traveling, etc. I think it's great that by far most of them do graduate. But I'm a little surprised that so few (and so few in the ACC overall) can get over this not-so-high bar. Somebody set me straight if I'm not reading this right.

Answered my own question

So just because you meet the requirements doesn't mean you're automatically on the All-Academic team. You must be chosen. I wonder what criteria they use. (If it's reading comprehension, I'd be out. :))
