George Rogers is pulling for Clemson to win Monday

Jan 8, 2016, 8:08 PM

My dad ran into him at the grocery store tonight. Said he was hoping for a Tiger win and thought they had a better team.

Color me shocked.

Most coots I've talked to have said the something. But most coots are like that with me. But you'd have to know me( as my wife says) but George rogers has been on wccp. I don't see him as a coot. He's good people.
GO TIGERS!!

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree. I played football with his son. He's good people.

Jan 8, 2016, 8:21 PM

Still shocks me any Carolina fan would want Clemson to win. It will make Muschamps job that much harder.

Brother! Its obvious that coots don't have the fore thought to comprehend that. Or they wouldn't pull so hard for the sec.
GO TIGERS!!!

He must have been high. LOL***

Classy move on his part,

Jan 8, 2016, 8:37 PM

But are you sure he wasn't hoping for an Auburn or Missouri (Tigers) win? You know if Bama wins, the whole SEC wins.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I like ole George. He's a good guy.***

people think the players and former players...

Jan 8, 2016, 9:16 PM

hate the other team as much as we do. But, they don't. There is a lot of comradery in those football circles. On the field they want to beat the crap out of each other. But they respect what a team and other players do.

Now, me.....the he## with that! I couldn't do it

Case in point...my neighbors bleed garnet and black. She told me not too long ago "I love you guys...I just hate your school". Pretty much sums it up.

Just talked with George on the phone and he confirmed it. Said it would be good for the state and he really likes Dabo.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I can believe that from him. He's a genuinely nice guy

Jan 8, 2016, 10:13 PM

with a big heart. He and Coach Ford have spent time together with charitable events around the state. He's no hater.

I'll snort to that!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm a Clemson grad and have 3 kids who are Clemson ....

Jan 8, 2016, 10:46 PM

grads also. I was a Rat and had it drilled into me back in the day to hate SCar. And I really do hope they never win a game again. Having said that, I played in a golf tournament called The Legends Challenge at the Walker Course with Jim Stuckey, me and another Clemson guy on one team and 2 Gamecocks (one who was a guy who used to be on Tigernet way back as Gamecock Professor who, sad to say, passed within the past year) and George Rogers on the other team. It was Clemson vs. USC team event Ryder Cup style. I will say that George Rogers is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. We had a great time and ended up in a tie in our match but a victory for Clemson in the tournament.

Big George

Jan 8, 2016, 11:32 PM

He is a Carolina Man .,but he don't have to use SEC , in every thing they do ., The SEC fans
will never realize how stupid they are SEC all the time ., They grade every player ,., Is he SEC
approved ,..,
We play games we would lose if we had to play in SEC stadiums ., bigger crowd > lose ,. go figure .,

Coaches ,. cant hire a coach unless SEC approved ,., No ACC coaches ., I guess the football is
different .,

SEC money ,., Coots get umpteen million dollars playing in the SEC every year and we only make
24K per game plus 300 dollars , from cokes and hotdogs ., We Poor .,

I almost forgot the SEC grind ,. where you have to play Florida ,., Ten-er-see ,.Alabama ,. LSU
Georgia ,., Arkansaw ., A&M before open date .,
I guess you have to serve SEC concessions in your stadium ., rant over ,.

I've played in his golf tournament every year for the past

Jan 9, 2016, 4:37 AM

5+/- year's or so, as well as many CU fundraising golf outings. George is a down to Earth, good southern guy as far as I've always been concerned. Obviously we throw jabs back and forth, but that's what makes it fun right? Anyways, no doubt he's a good guy....for a coot. ;)
