i would think the CFP committee would put conf. champs ahead and we would play wash in the semis. thoughts?

move up to if they win? If OSU is 4 and Penn St is 5, how can you not move Penn St up one more spot?

Saying that part of me still thinks they will figure a way to get Bama and OSU a shot at finals. Part of me thinks they will try to keep us and Bama in Atl.

Not playing a conference championship means not only are you playing one less game, but that one game should theoretically be one of the hardest, if not the hardest, of your season.
I don't hear much talk about that.

I have Clemson to #2 and Wsh to #3 if they both win.
This is about ratings.
2 high potent offenses facing off and then the bama/tOSU rematch.

but they haven't earned anything in terms of seeding. I'd be 100% fine with them dropping to 4th.

Before hearing what the chairman said tonight I would have agreed OSU would drop... now I am not so sure... when we beat VT they will not be ranked anymore... so that will not be a quality win. Without a quality win, why would they move us ahead of OSU.... if they did, I have to scratch my head because that would contradict is stament. He sure made it seem like they are preparing the narrative that conf champ only matters in certain circumstances... so they have something to fall back on when they leave PSU out if they win

i'd agree they should drop to 4 because they'd be the only one of the four teams that wasn't a conference champion. However, my inner conspiracy theorist says ESPN wants to see Saban vs. Meyer in the championship so they have to keep OSU 2 or 3 for the semis. Maybe Clemson moves to 2 and OSU drops to 3, but stays in front of Wash who has a week strength of schedule? Could also depend on who wins more convincingly between Clemson and Washington -- maybe Huskies just squeak by Colorado which could give the committee justification to make them 4. I said all that to say - Tigers are playing the Buckeyes in AZ.

Plus like OU last year... not playing in Dal... they do not want us to play in ATL... if we get in we are AZ bound!
