If we were going to lose 1, Syracuse was the game to lose.

Aub gives us strong OOC validity.
Lvul and VT gave us early season momentum and quality conf wins that showed we weren't a rebuilding team.
WF and BC were decent expected wins, but by winning these solidified that we were consistent.

We have to beat NC St for the division.
FSU is our division and recruiting rival.
Scar is our state beyotch.
It would stink to lose to GT after the bye week.
Have to beat El Cid for the state champ.

That leaves Syracuse; Fri night, on the road, before the bye week. Now there are 2 weeks to fix problems and half a season to come back strong. Its a bad loss, but its behind us. We've already proven ourselves with this team, and still have time to earn back a top spot.

With everything still on the table, I use the words of Stephon Anthony...
Clemson's coming.

Auburn losing to LSU didn't help the OOC validity argument!

Cuse will serve as a good wake-up call for the second half of the season; hopefully this will get them good and focused for a stretch of tough games. So yes, if there was any conference game to lose, it was Syracuse. They have no realistic chance of getting to use that W as a tiebreaker over us for anything, and I'd rather lose up in NY than at home to GT or FSU.

Hopefully, the 'Cuse continues to play well going forward.

(Except for losing at least two ACC games, of course.) The better they play, the less that loss hurts us SOS.

I hate to lose a game, but I agree this one is the one. The team will be better off in the long run losing via upset instead of losing an "expected" (or more likely) game. they will be fired up! And I'll take the circumstances too; a short week on the road without starting QB or kicker. Go tigers!

Maybe Syracuse will beat Miami this weekend. That might help with the perspective a little bit.
