Problem with 8 game schedule in 14 team league

It means we are basically not even in the same conference with the Coastal. I assume we will keep Georgia Tech as a crossover rival. That means one team will rotate every 2 years among 6 teams. That means we will go 12 years before playing some teams. Won't see Miami in the valley again for 12 years. Not going to Blacksburg again for 12 years.

match ups like LSU in Knoxville won't happen again till like 2022. Georgia vs Alabama every 12 years.

Its the way it has to be in order to keep up revenue. It would allow 2 inter-division games and yes, unfortunately, you are correct about the 12 years but a price has to be paid. We must keep our out of conference schedule in tact, with 2 low level opponents, USC, and upcoming Georgia and then whomever from there.

I do hate to see the Va Tech game go, and only way to keep it fair for the whole league(IMO) we would even lose our yearly battle with Ga Tech and that would also be bad...sacrifice for balance :)

Why not do away with the cross division rival, don't paly Ga. Tech every year and rotate out two cross division games a year home and away?

Agree. How is it fair that one team gets Duke every year

while another team gets Miami every year? Every single year Wake will play Duke while we play GT and FSU plays Miami. Nothing fair about that.

schedule them as an OOC opponent that would not count in conference standings. I believe that VT and Pitt have this situation next year.

during that time and that will be a better and more Media Driven game than VT or Miami.
