ClemsonSCtiger, did I miss somewhere in this article where Herbstreit was voting on last years teams? Cuz I'm pretty sure he's looking st this years teams. Accept it or not, Ohio state going on the road and hanging 49 on a conference opponent with GameDay in the house is a better win than annihilating a Kent state team that is currently looking for walk ons for both lines. And Alabama Certainly has a better week one resume than Clemson does after week after embarrassing FSU in Atlanta.
Chill out people. We get our shot this weekend in DV. The championship is only good for a year. It's a new team and a new day.

Please tell how were the rankings bf Clemson got in the way of their normal way of doing things. They always had the reining NC as the #1 team bc they would say they were still #1 until somebody beat them. Wasn't, that, the, way, they, did, things?????????????????

I think the point is that if Bama wins the natty one year they are immediately #1 the following year. Same with teams like LSU, Ohio St, etc. look at USC. When's the last time they did something? They got slaughtered by Bama to open the 2016 season and they started ranked above us this year. That, after us beating the same Bama team that hung over 50 on them.
I'll say this though. The rankings don't matter at this point if you are in the top 10. Now if we got ranked around 25 we would have to have a perfect season to get in the playoffs. I also think if Clemson continues to trend upwards and consistently win 10+ games a year and stay around the playoff talks, we will get more respect in regards to the polls when they come out to start the year.
