13-16 sacks and 50-70 tackles in a season. Last year he had 13 sacks and 54 tackles. He will not have more than one interception from the DE spot. So he will not have the stats to win the award.

I still say Julius Peppers was a much better DE than Clowney. He was 6'6" 290lbs and could run and jump he also was the starting power forward on the UNC basketball team. I don't think Clowney comes anywhere close to matching JP in his strength and power.

Doesn't matter they are over a thousand voters through out the country and he will not get most of the votes. Most voters still vote for players in their region and the votes in the south will not all go to him.

Great point. All the voters in Florida still vote for Tim Tebow every year. California voters still lean towards OJ Simpson and people from Texas will never vote for a black person in anything.
