If DRad doesn't fire Brownell within the next week

I have little faith that he or Clemson cares about men's basketball. We aren't even one of the top 100 teams in terms of tournament selections or RPI. This is year six. Inexcusable.
Brownell is a nice guy and a good coach. But if DRad said "we can be better" with regard to baseball last year, how can he not think that about basketball?!?

Lets see, the new john will have less seating. I believe that is your answer right there.

Basketball is all about the few donors that do, football is the many that do. I think the LJ Reno's are going to be great. I just do and it will help this team. I am willing to wait.

I feel the same way about Brad Brownell that I felt about Tommy Bowden.
I like both of them, but he just can't get it done.
Not a good enough x & o coach for the ACC and it shows BIGTIME.
The Notre Dame game did it for me. He doesn't motivate that we'll, and he gets out coached LIKE ITS HIS JOB.
We need someone else & and I don't like to say that because BB recruited well and seems like a Classy guy.
But someone else can do better.
Go Tigers

CBB deserves one more season as his input got Clemson to fully understand just how far behind we were from a facilities related standpoint. What concerns me is the potential loss of our leading scorer and a lack of a proven inside player. Our guards should be improved, but Brownell must make the NCAAs or he should resign. The NIT won't be acceptable after multiple seasons.
Go Tigers!

If Jaron returns, we should be a legitimate top 25-30 team.

If he doesn't, I don't see how we make the NCAA Tournament. The transfers will have to be even better than rumored for that to happen.

Brownell must have photos of DRad in a compromised or

humiliating position. Other wise why would Drad have given CBB such a sweet contract when there were no other suitors for his services. 6 years into the tenure of CBB, the last two years your outside of the top 100 teams and he wants to keep this coach.

As much as I'd love to agree with the OP, in a real world where business is important, it would be insane to fire CBB this year, or possibly the next. Unless you can find another John Wooden or Dean Smith, you'd be a financial fool to buyout the CBB contract and go hire another coach. We on t-net keep forgetting that CLEMSON actually runs a business, and it's not just sports. Odds are that CLEMSON would go after another 'hopeful' coach that won't produce much more than CBB, or possibly less. THAT is how CLEMSON has run their business for years. So, we might as well suck it up and plan to endure 1-2 more seasons and just hope for the best. When the money buyout becomes less of an issue, then the donors will voice their opinions a lot louder. Right now they would be pi$$ing in the wind.

How do you know that money is an issue?

Yes, Clemson runs a business. And in so doing, Clemson should prioritize the two sports which make money - football and basketball. Renovations to the baseball stadium, soccer stadium, and golf facility were needed, and are nice, but that money should be spent on sports that make money first. This assumes that we are in dire financial shape and can't fund all of these sports, which I feel is an incorrect assumption.
Clemson doesn't have the budget of a University of Texas, but we aren't hurting either. Have you seen all the hundreds of millions spent on football the last 5-10 years?

I think it's rare a coach in his position receives the entire buyout in a situation such as this; by that I mean lack of a post season tournament of any kind. However, it's still money.
