IMHO we just saw the second most important win in CU history

Dec 31, 2012, 11:53 PM

Hard to top the 1981 team's win in the OB, but other than that, I personally cannot think of a more meaningful win in the 50+ years I've watched the Tigers play than this one tonight.

This was the one we've been waiting for as fans for quite a while. A bowl win over a top-10 SEC team before a national audience.

What a great feeling!!!

What a great way to go into the off season and get ready for what could be an even better 2013 campaign.

Anybody disagree?

I agree...

I was in Miami for that game, but I did not get to go to this bowl game. This win was a gut-check win for our team, and we did it as a team!

Couldn't agree more*******

Higher ranked SEC team was beaten by more...

Yes, "important" is the operative word. Here's why:

Jan 1, 2013, 12:12 AM

1. Conference realignment implications...whether as meaningful as advertised or not...Clemson and the ACC truly needed to show that things are still alive for conferences and schools other than the SEC conference and schools.

2. Recruiting. See number 1 above.

3. Confirmation to the team...confidence builder...priceless lessons learned on never, ever giving up.

4. Perception is as important, unfortunately, then reality at times. We won a HUGE and VERY NEEDED injection of positive perception within the Clemson family, the conference, and the nation.

5. A lesson learned in "toughness." It provided a true test and revelation of Clemson's level of toughness and areas needed for improvement.

Totally agree ...***
