I understand why Alabama chose Miami for their game...

(because of the weather), but any insight into why Clemson chose the Cotton Bowl? I would have much rather we opted for the Peach Bowl. It's much closer and would be a much easier trip for most Clemson fans.
I'm sure there is a good reason, I just don't see it.

I suppose only Alabama had the choice of picking their destination as the #1 Seed!
Alabama did not want the Cotton Bowl since it would have given OK a "home field" advantage as Dallas would have been closer for OK than to AL.

force Notre Dame to play in the Rose Bowl. A lot of (the real) USC fans would have bought tickets just to root against their rival Notre Dame. Added to the Clemson fans that already travel well, we would have had a true home field advantage.

Bama did not chose, the committee assigned based on OU proximity to Dallas.

They shoulda chose the Papa John’s Bowl in Birmingham. That place is a house of horrors for teams outside of Alabama. Just ask the coots!

The Peach Bowl was already full up.
We had to take the Cotton or stay home.
It was wise of Dabo to take the Cotton b'fore a sec team jumped on it.
Plus, if you were a real Clemson fan, you would already know that Dabo likes Cowboy hats.
Duhh...

Don't need a dome on the moon. Spacesuits in orange are a trip. I heard Elon Musk is taking reservations for the journey.

As long as we've been in the CFPs, it's amazing how little some of you know about the details.

They didn’t want the Peach Bowl because they wanted a second Cotton Bowl appearance. They were also concerned about the turf damage from that recent soccer match In Atlanta.
