Which makes you wonder, if Kyle Rittenhouse is ever released from prison will he be characterized the same way? Not sure if ironic or poetic.

It's true; we don't really shed tears for em. I know of one personally who I would love to hear about having some terrible mishap befall him.
But if I go harm him, I'm still going to prison.

Well, yeah, that would be the caveat. But one size doesn't fit all, and you already know we disagree.
I would have more grounds to shoot that person with an AR in SC if he charged me as well due to the laws.

pretty much every civil rights and labor movement in this country that yielded any amount of success involved acts of protest, both violent and nonviolent. You can take this all the way back to the late 19th century when railroad workers would strike and be subsequently beat down by what was considered law enforcement of the day. There were violent clashes with labor movement in the 30's that paved the way for the New Deal. And the Civil rights movement in the 60's, again took massive amounts of people demonstrating to move the needle.
I guess what i am saying is government will sit on its hands until given good reason to react positively.

at this point. Everybody agreed we needed police reform before the riots began, now we're basically picking sides over a 17 year old shooting rioters.
Seems to me like the momentum for change has been totally destroyed by tribalism and identity politics.

not the organization...I'm just pointing out what they are saying.
I've used the analogy of a speaker who makes a great point in his first 15 minutes and then goes on for another 2 hours. You are losing everybody! They are fatigued and checking out.
We can't do anything about the complaints until the rioting stops. But if they are going to riot every black person who gets shot by a cop, we'll never cross that bridge.

I would imagine his lawyers will work out a plea agreement so he doesn't have to stand trial and risk a long imprisonment and lots of buggery.

I do caution against any view of martyrdom, which is the straw man Rittenhouse apologists keep claiming. Rosenbaum especially seemed like a punk.
But that's not the point. It doesn't mean they deserved to die violently, and it doesn't excuse violently the law with vigilantism.
I could go all Charles Bronson on some pedos I look up in the sex offender database, and I'm sure people would cheer me on for doing it. But I'm still going to prison.

Everyone who wasn't there to demonstrate peacefully. Everyone. Anyone walking into there with a weapon wasn't there to demonstrate peacefully.
Rittenhouse shouldn't have been there. Rosenbaum shouldn't have been there. I'm assuming Huber shouldn't have been but maybe he was peaceful originally. The dude who had the handgun shouldn't have been there.

I was told yesterday that Tea Party protesters brought weapons to their marches but they were demonstrating peacefully. So maybe it's more nuanced that you're suggesting.

No facts but I believe they were hired thugs. The FBI is making the connections now and following the money. What’s going on in Portland stopped being about race a long time ago.

Not disputing, just asking if we know it was criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 13 or if it was statutory rape of his girlfriend because he turned 18 before she did and her parents got mad. Or somewhere in between.
Could make a difference on the "did he deserve to die" question.

I mean, did crime and did time. Then got murdered. And you're all like they were criminals so who cares.
Perhaps take up trying to get some changes made in the judicial system. You know, like the changed that would allow for death sentences to be handed out for convictions for crimes that currently aren't punishable by death.
Or maybe you are so down your agenda driven rabbit hole that you've come to believe that even people being murdered is ok if it is in alignment with whatever bullshyt that your mind believes.
