Sensational - great flash backs to 90s and 2000s when ...

frequent trips to Chicago included nights at Buddy Guy’s - occasionally Blue Chicago or Kingston Mines.

Buddy Guy’s was cold beer, pool tables and some kick ### blues .... Buddy would be in bar frequently and play on occasions. All the bands at Buddy’s had guitarists that rip your soul out. Kingston Mines would sometimes have a little MoTown that would take you back to 60s and 70s with remarkable vocalists _ especially the black women.

Stumbled back into the hotel at 2 am knowing the local musicians playing in the Windy City took a back seat to none.

Business travel had its benefits in the day.

Went about 10-12 times, saw Buddy at the bar 4 to 5 times

signing tee shirts (got that autograph on a shirt).

He played twice - thinking it was beginning of second set.

In Chicago, always had to tactfully dump the more socially reserved business associates before heading out on the town.

it's amazing how many artists turn to the blues at some

point. Like when their chosen genre plays out. But I sincerely don't mean that in a bad way, I'd say they all liked the blues, but saw more money/potential somewhere else when they were trying to make it big.

I watched a doc about Billy Gibbons today

his trip to Cuba to play in the Havana Jazz Festival in 2015.

You could tell he & his band kind of felt sorry for those people. They had nothing. Band didn't take their larger instruments, amps, etc, so they had to scour the entire country to find beat-up drum sets, keyboards, and amps to play a show. They found a drum set The Police had left there in the mid-80's. You could tell they were in shock, kept talking about Cuba being "frozen in time".
