Their smugness and attitude this entire season makes it hard to feel sorry for Chase Young. I'm not thrilled about this news but I definitely won't lose any sleep over it.

The details of the "loan" determines how I feel for Chase Young.
If this is one of those NCAA rules that restricts athletes from getting help when they need it, then I feel bad for him.
If they are simply trying to cover up impermissible payments then I don't feel bad.

My son was getting everything paid for when he was playing in college. He still got a student loan without me even knowing.

letting the university handle it. That in itself tells me he's squirming. A hit dog hollers the loudest. If he truly didn't violate any rule, he would've let the university and their attorneys handle it. I betcha he's being told that in no uncertain terms right this minute.

ESPN is quoting him saying he accepted a loan from a family friend that he's known since the summer before he started school at OSU. No, that doesn't sound fishy at all.

That fact that he has already hired a lawyer and said it was a close family friend that he met 3 years ago. tells me he's lying and knows that a lawyer will scare the NCAA in letting him play. HE took money from a booster and someone found out so now it's a close family friend. The BS flag is flying.

SECOND, it was a loan from an Agent, furthermore explained in the rules.
EFF him, he broke the rules.Even when the rules are changed, Agent $$$ will still be against the rules.

There is no need at all to feel sorry for Chase Young. Once he's drafted in the top 3, signs for +$30 million and wins Defensive ROY, he won't remember this and definitely won't lose any sleep.
Get out your popcorn guys and enjoy the show.
Remember, theater (especially negative theater) in sports is awesome when your team is not involved. Double the pleasure when it's a school you dislike.
