Georgia wins out and beats bama in sec championship game.....
Michigan wins out....

Not sure how you leave out an undefeated team that gave another team you put into the playoffs their only loss.

Aside from head to head (which does weigh a lot), but it was 1st game on road by 7 i think??
Michigan has the "big 3" over notre dame: Eye test, SOS, & Conference Championship.
now what would really be interesting if all mentioned happens AND OU is 12-1 Conference Champ
so you'd have
Clemson 13-0 ACC champ
UGA 12-1 SEC champ
Bama 12-1 SEC runner up
OU 12-1 B12 champ
Michigan 12-1 B10 champ
ND 12-0
and just for kicks Wash st. 12-1 P12 champ
highly doubt all that happens, but it wouldn't surprise me

Head to Head, and Zero losses.
UM may have played the better schedule, but ND didn't play the sisters of the poor. This isn't UCF's schedule we're talking about. Going undefeated on that schedule should put you into the CFP every year.
With that said, the only way I think they get left out is if the CFP committee is making a statement about independents in general. Otherwise you can't leave them out to put in a team they beat, IMO.

If Bama's only loss is in the SECCG, Notre Dame would be eliminated because of not playing in a Championship game!
