I thought sliding on the floor with complete posession of the ball was a travel

I'm baffled by the refs these days. Both teams got away with the inbounder stepping inbounds before releasing the ball. When did the easiest calls become obsolete from the game.

I am honestly getting old. These "get off my lawn" monuments are really seeping through these days.

I believe they changed the rule this year. I am also CERTAIN

that they called traveling on us this year for the very same thing the Cuse guy did tonight.

It's more complicated than that. It also depends on

Here's the way rules get changed . . .

More and more players keep breaking a particular rule, until everybody is doing it. Refs, instead of doing their jobs and cracking down, let it go a little more and a little more, until they are no longer calling it, except in the most outrageous, egregious cases. Like with traveling and carrying. Technically the rules haven't changed, but from a practical standpoint, they have effectively changed. Refs have no guts, and nobody else wants to be the bad guy and speak up. Now we have a whole generation that don't even know the rules, they just know what gets called and what doesn't, which is a different thing altogether.
