best blocking I've ever seen by a Tiger Team..with every lineman & RB doing their job as QB optioned to the right..kept and took off untouched for the ND end zone. In fact, several of our blockers blocked twice to make sure there was a lane.

my personal favorite from over the years. You hear what made him great as an announcer. The sctacato rhythm and timimg. From 1975 to about 1990 when he started to age a little his style was classic radio pbp. Was still good until he died, but those were his peak years, and they coincided with the glory years of Clemson football

I was a senior at Daniel HS. Must say that old campus was beautiful with all the old buildings and Touchdown Jesus was cool, too. The ND fans laughed and pointed at all the orange we were wearing when we went into the stadium but didn't say much about it after the game. We had the "Devine will whine in '79" bumper sticker for years.

nickname of "The Flagman" from SID Bob Bradley.
The 3'x 5' Orange Flag with large White PAW was actually taken from me in 4th quarter when a ND student surprised me by coming down the row full of Tiger Fans, snatched it & ran with flag until Clemson people at end of row heard me yell and tripped him up..whereas I stood over him and yelled get your #### out of here..and took the flag from him..pole bent..straightened it up and waved PaW Flag whereby hundreds of Orange Clad Fans yelled.
All this scared my 9 yr. old son (now 44 and Clemson/UGa Law Grad self-employed) and he went to be with fans above our seats.
Later we rushed down onto the field where I stood up on small ladder with band director who waved his baton as I waved the Flag..and Jim Phillips commented.
It was an awesome feeling to win over the IRISH in that great stadium.
GoTiGERS!

Left Clemson Thursday night. Drove to Kokomo, Indiana. Drove to the Playboy Club in Chicago Friday evening. Headed to South Bend after that.
Defense played outstanding.
Wooden bleachers in stadium. Hot that day with no ice to keep the JD cold in the stadium.
Best road trip ever!
