Coming to FSU Game - Best Steakhouse in Greenville

Oct 10, 2013, 4:24 PM

Hey, it Hawg1, from Colorado again. Suggestions for best steakhouse in Greenville?

Just to remind you, I posted a few months ago. I and a buddy from Boston just like CFB and we choose one or two games each year. We can't wait to see how you do it at Clemson.

Not an FSU fan poaching on tickets or your version of fun. Just real CFB fanatics looking for a good game and good hospitality.

Can't wait to see your boys come down that hill.

Thanks for any input you can provide.

The steak itself was a good enough cut of meat....They just dont season the meat with anything but light salt and pepper and they serve it with ketchup....If thats your thing, I guess it would be great.

Months after picking on the food choices in Clemson, Boeheim does a full 180 on the food in the Carolinas saying Greenville has "one of the best restaurants on the East Coast."

Well, I would have never guessed that! You mean there's actually edible food on Tobacco Road?!?! No way?!?! Get out of town!?!?!?!

(Googles the "47 restaurant in Greenville SC" -- I am not kidding -- and finds Chophouse 47, which is not surprisingly a NEW YORK STYLE STEAKHOUSE!)

1. Rick Erwins Steakhouse - http://rickerwins.com/

2. Larkin's on the River - http://www.larkinsontheriver.com/

3. Chophouse 47 - http://www.chophouse47.com/

Rick Erwin's and Larkin's are in downtown Greenville and are considered some of the best dinning establishments in the area. Downtown Greenville itself is fantastic by itself for atmosphere and variety of food, bars, and events happening every weekend.

Chophouse 47 is located right off of I-85 at Exit 54 and has a very nice steak too, but afterwords you'll be heading to Downtown Greenville and realize you should have just gone there first to Erwin's or Larkin's.

Oct 10, 2013, 6:58 PM

If you're flying into GSP, Greer is right down the road and as mentioned, the Strip Club is great

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Several great options, the best being Rick Erwin's West End.

Oct 10, 2013, 7:01 PM

It is probably the best steak I have ever had, and was recently voted one of the top 40 restaurants in the U.S. Great atmosphere too. It is located in the Historic West End of Greenville. It is a nice dinner out, but for the quality and environment it is more than worth it.

http://rickerwins.com

If you've never been to downtown Greenville, it is an outstanding downtown area. Be sure to leave time to check out Falls Park, which is a block away from Rick Erwin's. Leave time for a stroll before or after dinner.

Also downtown, I can recommend Larkin's on the River as well as High Cotton. If you want to venture into the 'burbs, there is also Chophouse '47. Ruth's Chris is a nice option too.

Charlie's Steak House is also downtown, it has been there forever, and it shows. It's not the caliber of the previously mentioned places.

I'd do Rick Erwin's if I were you though, no doubt.
