A semi-serious question

Oct 29, 2017, 12:53 AM

Late in games with confortable leads, Do you think that the staff intentionally calls offensive plays that would be hard to have much success on? Maybe create a bit of a sputtering end? Why?

In order to spark motivation for next week already. It's fuel for the coaches to get onto the team about not finishing strong. If we just kept slamming the team all 4 quarters the players could get too cocky.

I think we played it a little more

Conservative due to the rough wet conditions. We already had a comfortable lead and probably didn't want to chance a fumble or interception. The defense was playing well, so I'm ok with the offeisive strategy in the second half.

Not to mention we can’t risk any (more) injuries.

I kind of get that.

Sometimes I think they're trying to see who's willing to work for it.

All season I've felt like we take the foot off the gas as soon as we get a decent lead.

Very observant. The coaching staff is getting game tape for people down the depth chart to study and get better as opposed to making ESPN happy.

We didn’t score a TD the entire second half.

We have lots of work to do

We do Chicken right...it's not just for frying anymore!

No.

If that was the case, they’d just put ZC in and let him throw deep balls every play.

Usually I would say yes but last night I felt like we just failed to execute. Their were opportunities late to blow the doors off but we would have a penalty or something that would set us back and stall the drive
