Why did Muschamp yank Bentley out of the game so early against Clemson?

Was it to save him from the embarrassment that was about to happen, and save his grace? I barely even remember him in the game, against Clemson. It was kind of a strange situation with him in the game with us. Is he gonna try to "redeem himself" this year or something?

I think he was just tired from jogging to the sidelines ...

... to get the plays in the first half.
If he was wearing a Fitbit I'm sure it would show he must have run a good 5 miles doing that.
You know, he was supposed to still be in high school, so I'm not sure his lungs had fully developed yet.
(I admit most of my posts regarding Bentley are making fun of him having to run to the sidelines to get the plays against us, but to me as I was watching the game in person it was the oddest thing I ever saw, why not have a receiver run the play in or use signals like every other football program in America, oddest thing I ever saw ... end of explanation rant.)

He showed very faint signs of being a good quarterback, in a few games this past season, but to say he's gonna be great, is just absurd. He threw for a lot of yards in Florida and South Florida, but guess what they lost both of those.

That's not alot. He hasn't thrown a TD vs a D1 Defense that finished higher than 98th in Total Defense.

Why do you continue to pretend to be a Clemson fan?

I'm not pretending, I've seen Bentley play twice, and was stating my claim.

I think it was about saving him but not from embarrassment. It was just basically saving his life as he knew it!

Ok thanks, that makes sense. The whole time he played was just a blur to me.

It's called "grasping for straws". You saw the game. The coots were sliding backwards down their buttery slippery slope of doom called a 'football program'. Muschamo would have put his crippled grandmother in there if necessary!

and he was slightly injured. Keeping him in the game would only make it worse. SC fans like to talk about how Clowney and co harassed Boyd; our D would have had no mercy on Bentley in the 3rd Qtr. McElwaiin was more mobile so he could run for his life better.
