Watson not playing in Senior Bowl

Jan 18, 2017, 11:12 AM

Do you think this will help or hurt his draft stock?

No impact whatsoever.

No chance he would've considered Senior Bowl.

Jan 18, 2017, 11:14 AM

Doesn't matter for his draft stock.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It won't make a difference

Jan 18, 2017, 11:14 AM

It's smart on his part. He'll attend the combine and do all of that jazz there, I can only imagine that the Senior Bowl would provide very little advantage in the grand scheme of things.

Neither. No one cares. He just won the national championship

The largest stage. Anyone who wanted to see him play did.

Smart decision by DW4 not to play in Senior Bowl

Jan 18, 2017, 11:30 AM

He was basically being used as a marketing tool by the Senior Bowl/ Phil Savage to get more people interested in their product anyway. Only inferior QBs to him were invited and scheduled to attend so he'd have much more to lose than gain. If he has a bad day or week his already large army of critics would scream at the top of their lungs,"I told you he wasn't that good".

It was always in his best interest to prepare for the combine, make sure his weight is 220 lb or better, and prep for the individual workouts.

I was thinking the same thing. I really thought the senior bowl was for players just trying to make it into the NFL. Not first round draft picks.

No impact. I would have been....

Jan 18, 2017, 11:36 AM

surprised if he had played in it. He doesn't need to improve his draft stock.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think he could have only helped himself by playing

Jan 18, 2017, 11:42 AM

He would get to show off his off the field preparation and practice acumen in front of several contingents of NFL coaches. They don't pay attention to the actual game. Everyone knows what he can do on the field, but his potential leadership and "face of the franchise" would have been on display. Watson's intangibles are going to be what bumps him up the draft boards.

But not playing won't hurt his chances.

Its not needed, at all.******

Hurts his chances with Cleveland

Jan 18, 2017, 12:05 PM

not that there's anything wrong with that. Carson Wentz played in it last year so I don't think it hurts a QB's draft stock.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He would be crazy to play IMO.

Jan 18, 2017, 12:21 PM

What could he prove in a showcase game that would add to his body of work? He's already demonstrated the necessary skills for a proper evaluation of his talent and potential.

I can't see it changing his stock at all.
