I think Morris offense needs a dual threat QB to be at it's

Dec 1, 2013, 6:45 PM

best. Just look at what Auburn has done with Cam Newton and Nick Marshall. TB is not a running qb, he is a pocket passer. I look for Kelly or Watson to start next year, they are the two qb's that he has personally recruited to come in and run his system. TB never, never, never could learn or get comfortable running the read option and that is a huge part of what Nick Marshall and Auburn does. I look for us to be better next year.

What? Taj did a terrific job running the ball this year and was at times our only credible running threat. That said i am looking forward to the battle for starting QB next season!

TB longest run was maybe 12 yards the last 3 years.

Do Kelly or Watson have the speed to be a Nick Marshall type QB?

I think both are above avg runners, maybe not Nick Marshall. If you look at Morris play calling at Tulsa his QB ran the ball alot and was very effective.

Not having a true between the tackles runner hasn't helped

us either. That won't be a problem next year with Gallman and Dye.

Screw Calford.

Agree. I'd like to see this offense with both.

I agree with OP. Tajh has run the ball well and hard, no doubt. But he does not run the read option well. Most of his runs he knows he is going to run. He does not put it in the running backs bellly and read if he should keep or back should keep. Kelly will be much better at thus. Not a knock on tajh, just the way it is.
