An early signing day is needed and is a "get with the times"

move, however only 2 months ahead of the current day isn't a whole lot of improvement. The trend for many of these guys is to commit prior to their senior year. So if that is their desire, why not have a signing day at the same time? August signing day would make for a much less stressful senior year of football for these guys if you took the recruiting game away.

I agree wholeheartedly. It's pointless to have a not-so-early signing day less than 2 months before signing day. June-August would be feasible, seeing how this is the time most kids make their decisions while attending camps and visiting various schools. Only downfall would be an indecisive kid loving a school, committing and signing, then deciding he made a mistake, with the only way out being a coach leaving the program.

The last minute grey shirt kid will know on Dec. 16 it's time to look around when (insert any SEC coach here) asks him to wait until February.
