Pawleys Island Supplies in Pawleys Island.
BTW, local green peanuts won't be available for boiling until late August and Sept.
Boiled peanuts freeze really well!

What’s your secret? Please share. My friend who’s also a coworker grows the best peanuts I’ve eaten. Pelion of course. Anyway, I always end up with a few bushel and have never had success freezing them. Tia.

You have to cook them half way done, and freeze them in salt water kerigantoo. When you are ready for some, just put them back in the pot and finish cooking them to desired texture!!!

I really appreciate it. Interesting. No wonder mine lose so much flavor and texture.

Peanuts grow further south and mature earlier.
You can get green peanuts from the big wholesalers st the State Farmers Market by the bushel. They are from Florida right now.
Oddly, years ago, when there was a peanut allotment, you could grow and harvest green peanuts but it was illegal to sell dried, mature peanuts unless you had an allotment.

Not sure how local or unlocal, but the Piggly Wiggly has awesome green peanuts. I’ve boiled 25 or 30 lbs so far this year and they’re better than any I’ve ever bought, already boiled.

I got some at Pawleys Island Supplies last Saturday when I stopped in to buy shrimp for bait. They were really good and salty.

Don't stop anywhere where they don't have smoke (steam) coming out of the top of the pot. They are always the best.

Quite a bit a ways from Clemson but.... can be done.
There’s always a guy on Hwy 76 on the way in from I 85 it seems. Seems like he’s at the intersection right before Smokin Pig or somewhere in there.

If near Landrum S.C. a guy named Bear Tyler has a barber shop on his land and a commercial kitchen in back of the building. Bull and Bear barber and BULLHDED peanut company. He is at Landrum farmer's market on Saturdays. I think he also sells some out of his barber shop. He makes different kinds like Kill Dills, Southern draws, Bull nuts, Hot snakes to name a few. They are great. I follow him @ bullhded-peanut-co on Instagram

Is that the metal building near the intersection on hwy 21 (low country hwy)? I've noticed they always have cars stopped as I'm flying past and have intended to stop.

Bentons at Snyder's crossroads is indeed the place for peanuts.
They usually harvest green peanuts in late July and early August.
Another good place to try is Breland's strawberry farm, just up highway 21 from Snyders.
Benton phone - 843-866-2702
Breland phone - 843-866-7560
