For your family and friends to have peace, comfort and love from the many great memories you left behind.

I remember you and Michael Dean shutting down the middle on that awesome DL in '86 & '87. See you in eternity.

Fall of 1984, when I was a senior and I take it he was a redshirt-soph., or junior. Anyway, all I knew about him was that he was on the football team. As the article says, he was relatively unknown at that point. My reason for posting all of that is to say that on the one night that our paths crossed and he was a "pop-in" guest at my place, he was an absolute pleasure to be around. He smiled and had a great time the whole evening and even took some good-natured ribbing from some about his place on the depth chart. He was huge and could have ended that in a rather unpleasant manner, but he was all about having fun and getting to know people. He ended up being a tremendous player for Clemson. I am very sorry to hear this news.

Sad to hear this.

Prayers go out to the friends and family of Tony Stephens

Prayers also go out to former Clemson players and the families of former Tigers Terry Smith, Gaines Adams, Tony Steward who lost his fiancé, Doug Thomas, Tracy Perry as well as other who have left the Clemson family much to soon. And others who lived a full life and made many contributions to Tigers athletics.

And we have former great "The Fridge" William Perry that needs our help and our prayers.

I would like to see a wall of former Tiger athletes who have passed away so fans can stop by the University show their respects.

I remember meeting Tony our freshman year, fall of '83, in College Station Pub. We were from nearby towns, so we talked for a while. Never forget when he introduced himself and said he was going to be a starting defensive lineman one day. Saw him several times over the next four years and he always spoke and was just a nice guy. Very sorry to hear this sad news. Prayers to his family.

Yes, he impressed me as just a genuinely nice guy.***

I went to school with Tony at Walterboro High. He was a very nice and sorta quiet guy. In study hall, we would sometimes put the smallest desk where he sat to joke with him. He smiled and took it all in stride...super nice guy.
