But I quit drinking “out” years ago. Being home with the wife, hearing the kids say the dumb things that make them kids, and just generally being in touch with the crap that goes on in daily life while I’m gone for “8 hours” is better than the association outside of the home.
I do understand that many have to spend “social time” outside of the home for work purposes and I don’t envy them. Do what you have to, but don’t miss any unnecessary seconds of those beautiful faces at home. Heck, I can see my kids getting older every time I drive down the road for a couple hours. It’s starting to get scary.

Another benefit to drinking at home... the kids make good beer fetchers.
