0% APR for 82 months? Wow.

May 15, 2020, 7:34 AM

Kinda did a double take on that car commercial. Free financing basically. And 82 months?

What type of car?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Generic Ford commercial. Think all.

May 15, 2020, 7:39 AM

Also saw Hyundai at 0% for 72 months.

Thats great. Might be nice for some top of the line Ford truck.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So I can finally get that sweet GT? Now which color?

May 15, 2020, 9:15 AM

White with blue stripes or blue with white stripes?

You won't be getting a truck on those terms

Free money!

May 15, 2020, 7:46 AM

Probably have to have a credit score of 845 to qualify.

I'd qualify then.

That's just a way to get people who can't afford to buy

May 15, 2020, 7:46 AM

the car they're selling ... to buy the car they're selling.

Gets you on the lot

May 15, 2020, 7:51 AM

Gets you really wanting the car then the sales manager brings in the finance guy with the bad news. The best you qualify for with your lousy credit is 4.8% but to soften the blow, we’ll throw in free floor mats.

You’re not going to walk away from this car you really like over $22.75 a month are you?

I always finance the longest term. Last time I did 72 months

May 15, 2020, 7:51 AM [ in reply to That's just a way to get people who can't afford to buy ]

Paid off in about 18 months. Nice to have an option to pay very little just in case.

But yeah. ######### leverage those 82 months to buy all they can afford on the monthly payment. Then get ripped on property taxes, insurance, and maintenance.

I'd think about it if things were more certain.

May 15, 2020, 7:58 AM

But also who wants to be upside down in a loan that could well be the life of the vehicle?

manufacturer's warranty. I can't imagine financing a car for longer than the company is willing to stand behind their product.

yeah, go buy a Fiat or a Jeep and see what you've got left after 82 months....

badge-donor-05yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-conservativealex.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Who still does 5 yr /100?

May 15, 2020, 8:37 AM

I guess I could google it, but seems warranties don't go as far as they used to.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

my Jag was standard 5 yr /60k?

May 15, 2020, 8:47 AM

and I got it extended (cause Jag) to 7yr 100k mile

badge-donor-05yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-conservativealex.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Same with the Rolls. We sprung for the extra 40k miles

May 15, 2020, 10:31 AM

but we will never put that many miles on it. We just use it to flex on Jag drivers.

I did squeeze the dealer on our Huracan Evo Spyder

May 15, 2020, 10:34 AM

to get a full 6 year warranty. But, like you, I rarely take it out.

2024 purple level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did you do that for both Jags?

May 15, 2020, 10:52 AM [ in reply to my Jag was standard 5 yr /60k? ]

I can only assume you have 2 so you can keep 1 of them on the road.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

lmao

May 15, 2020, 3:36 PM

thats good.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-conservativealex.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You would love boat financing then

May 15, 2020, 10:33 AM [ in reply to I love financing that far exceeds the ]

It's the norm to finance a $60k pontoon for 15, even 20 years.

I read those offers will be drying up

May 15, 2020, 12:19 PM

Since the manufacturers shut down, they didn't build up too much inventory early. Also read that used car values have plummeted. If you need a new car now and have one to get rid of...might want to wait a while.

Like a few years.
