Ticket SCAMS galore

Jan 3, 2017, 1:47 PM

I know this may have already been posted, but BE CAREFUL looking for tickets, especially on Craigslist. I have been looking everywhere for a decent deal, and if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. I have bought tons of sporting event tickets on CL over the years, and with just one email exchange it is easy to identify a scammer. I have already encountered 3 or 4 just since the Tigers won.

Just be very careful and ask for several layers of ID and Ticket Verification if you plan to use CL.

Can you give us some details of what you've found to be scams?

The only thing you can find on Craigslist is a disease.

I'd be curious as to what prices the scammers are asking.

Usually just enough to be "too good to be true." But not more than that. They're a crafty bunch.

I knew it was a scam When I replied with a very low price as an offer (Approx face or just below) and they accepted without hesitation or counter.

When I asked for seller verification (personal Ph number, email, Linkedin or FB account link)...crickets.

I looked in the tickets section of Tampa craigslist Sunday..

Responded to one ad selling a pair in section 312 (Clemson side) for $275 each. Guy responded quickly and said "you can wire the money to me and the tickets will be emailed to you via Ticketmaster."

Uhhhhhhh....NO.
