New Story: Clemson vs. Syracuse prediction: Can Tigers get the run game going?

Clemson vs. Syracuse prediction: Can Tigers get the run game going?

Clemson is in the top four of the College Football Playoff rankings, and has four games remaining in the season – three home games (Syracuse, Pitt, South Carolina) and one road game (Wake Forest). It all sets up favorably for the Tigers to make an appearance in the playoff for the second straight season, but they have to get past Syracuse first. Full Story »

I like the blow-out scores, but...

Nov 4, 2016, 1:42 PM

I don't see it that way.
Clemson wins, in a close 1.
Tigers do just enough to get the win, 34 to 24.

I agree these predictions are outrageous. Its going to be a 10-14 point game MAX.

I agree, this is a classic trap game and we've seen how we can play at home this year against less talented teams. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't another 4th quarter nail biter.

I think it'll be closer than some are suggesting

Nov 4, 2016, 3:17 PM

But I don't see it as a trap. A trap would usually be right before a big game. We're not gonna get caught looking forward to Pittsburgh. No offense to Pitt, but they aren't a big target on our schedule this week.

Don't see a trap, we just got ranked #2 and we should

know that we can't afford an NCSt game again.

I agree it's a going to be a closer game than people think but I think it's because Coach plays a lot of the younger players. We haven't really played the younger players in a few games and this game sets up well for that

How does this set up nicely to play younger players?

Why would we play any younger players?

Especially if we play down to the competition, it's a white knuckle nail biter that comes down to missed field goal in OT!

Hard to "get the running game going" when you abandon it at halftime.

Been wondering if they were kin***

NO FARMERS NO FOOD

Seems everytime there is a blowout prediction, the Tigers really struggle.

I think a big day for receivers and...let's get the Wayne Train going to have a more balanced attack. We're going to need it down the road, let's give Wayne the ball..

My Take

Zero excuse... ZERO... for Gallman not having 28+ carries.

They put in Feaster? Lol

CLEMSON 56 - 14 syracurse

Nov 5, 2016, 9:21 AM

Feaster comes out and steals the show!

GO TIGERS!

Feaster can be a slot receiver which can come back to the backfield to rush the ball! He is so dangerous in the open field over the middle.

Love to see that, but I just don't see it happening.
Now, with that said...
Clemson has the team and ability to make that happen. But
I like calling Clemson the EVANDER HOLYFIELD of CF. They
always play to the level of the opponet. Swinney swore that
wouldn't happen THIS year, but....
Here we are again.
I try to make folks understand, listen- I get it, we're 8-0!
That's what you're trying to do. BUT, if you play with fire
enough of times, you WILL get burnt.
You let teams hang around in the 4th quarter, and the game
isn't always in your control. At that point, you maybe 1 play
away from your dreams going down the tube. And this team WILL
NOT get into the PO with "a" loss.

IMO.
