I just got back from a 2 week trip to Scotland

May 21, 2013, 6:12 PM

While over there my family had dinner with an older Scottish couple that has visited the upstate before. I told them that I was a student at Clemson and the wife went on to say that she has visited Clemson's campus and that she was very impressed with how beautiful it was. When I heard her say this I thought it that it was very cool because while in Scotland I saw some of the best scenery I have seen in my life.

Haha that's crazy. My girlfriend and I are heading back tomorrow from a UK trip. Might have crossed paths in Edinburgh. On her flight over she sat beside a Scottish woman and had a very similar story.

I'm headed there in 2 weeks.........

We're going to Dublin and then over to Edinburgh. Glad to hear that we'll be seeing some beautiful country. Living in Florida, I'm guessing the weather will be a little chilly to us.......and a little cloudier and wetter? Our visits to the Uk and the Netherlands have usually been that way.

It was in the 50s most of the time and rained all but 2 days but there wasn't really any humidity. If you are prepared for that kind of weather it's not bad at all, in my opinion it's better than being hot and humid.

My daughter just graduated from Clemson last Friday and will be in grad school in Edinburgh in the fall. We visited last Spring when she studied in Stirling. A beautiful country where everyone is hospitable. I loved it. I know my daughter would love to live there....to my chagrin.

Scotland is beautiful. Loch Lomond is a jewel.

I went in 2010. Would love to go back. The Highlands are a treat.

I love Scotland and Ireland!

Similar story for me while in Waterford, Ireland. Was walking down the street with a Clemson shirt on, a guy with an Irish brogue yells, "Go Tigers!" I asked how he knew about Clemson. He said he studied at Georgia Southern. Said he loved Clemson the times he had visited. I also had an FSU fan run up to us at Blarney Castle and insist we get a picture with him.
