Sunday morning rewind

After watching the highlight reels before I rolled out of bed this morning I noticed a difference in our two top QBs. Kelly Bryant was..well Kelly Bryant. Hes an amazing runner when he gets space and very athletic with great balance and feet. He can make all the short throws but gives more of a 50-50 ball when throwing deep or down the sidelines. He seems to only take his first read and doesn't trust his progressions targeting mainly his first 2 targets only.
Lawrence came in and showed up. He reminded me of DW4 in how he used the entire field went through his progressions quickly and spread the ball around. The use of our tight end in the pass game has been absent since last year and TL looks to use that weapon. Galloway looks like he will be a good one. TLs long ball looks good to in the Furman game when he threw long he dropped in where only our receivers had a chance with a high velocity and low arch. Instead of a slower lob. The future is bright! The past is gleaming with Championships. And the present moment is friggin' FUN to watch.
My morning armchair coaching observations. Enjoy

TL needs to take a little heat off those 10 yard rockets...

Even Tee let one of those lasers go through his hands.

That was TLs first series. Tee was getting KBs tosses the first three series and wasn’t looking for the heat.

Saw it a bit differently

Both missed some easy throws; both had good plays and bad plays. Both looked a little jittery early.
Kelly dropped in two beautiful deep balls; the one completed deep ball from Trevor looked to me like a throw up for grabs where the receiver made a play and made him look good.
I do agree that Trevor looked good on the short balls, and delivered them with zip.
Passing stats were about dead even; KB had the rushing TD, Trevor led us to scores on every single possession.
Will be interesting to watch them both, and see if someone can create a little separation. BEAT THE AGGIES!!

I just don’t understand the weakness of Bryant’s short throws

No zip and receivers have no chance once ball gets to them. He’s a big man so he should be able to zip it. Don’t get t.

I really think he doesn't trust his accuracy when he tries to zip the short throws.

I liked seeing the amazing quick releases from TL. Watch how fast he releases it on his passes. It is almost like he sees his target, and BAM, it's on its' way. Lasers. Our WR's were not expecting the heat sometimes. I liked other things already mentioned too. For those who remember Chris Leak, TL makes throws like Leak did such that only his WR can possibly catch the ball.

One thing I observed about TL..

I agree that he used the field well and has a cannon for an arm but it looked to me like he locked in on his receiver early and telegraphed where he was going to the opposing safety. I commented to the folks around me about this and they agreed. He has a precise throw but a good safety will simply watch TL's eyes and know exactly where the ball is going.
This is coachable. Coach Streeter can show him the game film and work with TL on this minor issue. Other than that, very solid first game.
Go Tigers!!
