worth a ####?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

An electric weedeater?

May 18, 2020, 12:37 PM

Only people who have electric weedeaters live in vintage place and hit cats with bats

I have the ryobi one and it is b a d a s s

May 18, 2020, 12:40 PM

It also fits their attachement line. I have the pole pruner, edger and a cultivator that all fit on the same power head. Also have a separate 40V blower and hedge trimmer. They are the tittays.

yanking it in the garage with the door open for everyone to see.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's why you buy a Stihl

May 18, 2020, 12:58 PM

Even after keeping it in the shed all winter, I pull twice and it's off to the raccists

Do you seriously expect anyone in here to believe

May 18, 2020, 1:05 PM

that you have Stihl power equipment.

I can get Stihl at cost and don't see the use in it for the average homeowner. Most people don't know how to take care of it over time and the upkeep on the electric is waaaaayyyyy less.

May 18, 2020, 1:15 PM [ in reply to Do you seriously expect anyone in here to believe ]

poor gas in, get #### done. Batteries always go in the ####### for electric stuff.

Come to my house in November or December when the leaves are falling. You'll spend 3 hours blowing with an electric blower before you give up.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sounds like you need a bagging mower.***

May 18, 2020, 1:27 PM

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Unless you do it twice a week

May 18, 2020, 1:30 PM

It'll clog a bagger.

takes three pulls at full choke and one pull at half choke to start. Works every single time.

Blower takes three pulls, every single time.

I have really enjoyed my Husqvarna suite of gas powered tools.

Weedeater pro tip

May 18, 2020, 2:37 PM

No gas, No battery, works for about 2 months.

I use my weed eater to edge grass my beds and trim around my fence. I pay someone else to handle the weeds.

Pro Tip for you G-Vegas area homies

May 18, 2020, 1:18 PM [ in reply to I have the ryobi one and it is b a d a s s ]

go to the Ryobi outlet by their DC (google it). I got a ryobi hack saw, drill, and a bunch of blades and bits for less than $25. They have batteries and #### too.

they take care of their vendors so if you know someone working there or doing work w/ them you can get another 40% off

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Can’t you just use a beard trimmer

Other than the mower.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-tiggity-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I started with an electric blower from my old house

May 18, 2020, 12:47 PM

It was one of them .25 acre subdivision type homes. Now I got oak trees ever where so I upgraded to the gas blower. STill didn't put a dent in it so I got a backpack blower and it's the bees nees.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Can confirm. I've got the Stihl backpack blower

May 18, 2020, 12:56 PM

That thing is a monster, you can peel up grass with it. Makes dealing with leaves 10000x easier. By dealing with them, I mean blowing them into a huge pile at the back of the lot and forgetting about them.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah it does kinda tear up the grass sometimes.

May 18, 2020, 1:16 PM

Some areas we got moss and I can just blow it away in chunks. Pretty fun to do.

I honestly kinda thought about getting a second one and rigging up up to shot backwards and then wearing it on my chest so I could have one for each hand and double the blowage.

no, but I DID replace the carburetor on my trimmer Saturday

May 18, 2020, 4:38 PM

$13.xx on Amazon for carburetor, spark plug (didn't use), fuel filter (didn't use, yet), 2 new gas lines, carb adjustment tool, and some other miscellany

better than $150-$200 for a new trimmer (which I spent on other yardy things, anyway)

plus hedge trimmer. All work great.
