the SEC has already published next year’s schedules but we (ACC) have to wait until the summer. Really hurts on booking hotel rooms, beach trips etc.

Appreciate reasonable answers, one of which can’t be “Swofford has to hear back from UNCheat.”

Swofford has to wait until Athlon hits the news stands do he can see who is favored to win the conference over UNCheat so he can schedule them for Friday night games at Syracuse, Pitt and BC!

I will comply with your request for reasonable responses. When the new TV contract with ESPN was signed it was stated that in an effort to get the best TV times the ACC and ESPN would look at the other, especially the SEC and Big 10), conference schedules and try to place anticipated high profile games in TV slots that would maximize ACC coverage and help earn more money for all partners. The schedules are usually published in mid winter, not during the summer. Another factor is that each school schedules its four OOC games and then the ACC and ESPN must build the 8 game conference schedule around the OOC games.
