Wow... Notice the trend...

...on the hits that produced runs? A lot of RBIs for GA Tech came off of the 0-2 pitch (5 of them)... I'm not the smartest cat in the world, nor am I an expert in America's past-time... But I could of swore the pitcher's objective is to throw a ball the batter CAN'T hit with that count... Or am I missing some new age strategy or game plan...?

You may not be an expert but you are correct about that. My high school coach told our pitchers "EVERYTIME it is an 0-2 count you WILL NOT give him a pitch that he can even tip with his bat." 0-2 pitches should be curveballs in the dirt (if no runners are on) or either a fastball right at eye level. You hope they swing at a terrible pitch but if they don't then at least you didn't give up a hit when there is no reason to pitch to a batter on an 0-2 count.

And I'm noticing a trend as well. Not throwing him under the bus but Will Lamb hasn't got out of the third inning in his last three starts. Maybe it's because he plays in the field so much? I mean I know he can't help it if Schafer is hurt but now that he is back Lamb shouldn't play in the field as much if he wants to pitch, play him at DH or something.
