Put down my golden retriever in January 1979 and have a paperweight of her on my office desk. I think of the joy she brought for twelve years as well. You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers. Look up the "Rainbow Bridge" for comfort in this time of sorrow.

I'm sorry for your loss. We lost our 13 1/2 year old lab last November and last month we lost our 13 1/2 year old Chi Spaniel. Try to cherish the good times and the long life your dog had.

The good memories will prevail

My thoughts are with you. As much as I cuss them, can't think of the day that time comes.

I had to put down my little Gwinny after twelve years. Held her while she took her last breath. Still chokes me up. There is a poem called "The Rainbow Bridge". A good read. We will see our little fuzzy friends again. Best of luck.

Lost one of my buddies after 14 years back in June

Posted: Nov 16, 2015 10:03 PM

That's the rough part of dog owning. They don't get to hang around with us as long as we want them to. But they make up for it by squeezing more love and friendship into their lives than humans do in their lifespan. And that's why they're the best.

I feel for you, bud. It will get better. You'll never forget, but the pain will fade. Then you'll be left with nothing but the good times in your memory.

I made that same difficult decision last August for my boy who was 13. I still love him and miss him dearly every day.

Just remember all the great times you had together. She will still be in your heart forever. :D

I know the feeling all too well... My prayers are with you and your family. One of the most difficult things you'll ever have to do. Cheers to the good times, the memories & may your furry friend rest in peace.

We lost our Rudy 2/26/14. He made the decision for us by having a heart attack, and Shane Turner helped us finish what he started that morning. We had him 13.5 years and he was known on TNet as the Deer-Treeing Daschund.

Still have pix of him on my phone and at home. We now have a bundle of fur called Opie that keeps us on our toes(rescue). We didn't know if we wanted another, but when Sandy saw him, her heart melted.

We miss the Rudster daily, but Opie brings so much joy(and grass, amongst other stuff) into our lives. We learn a lot from them, and they make us better people because of them.

Prayer to all of you at this hard time. Smile every time you think of them. That's what they want us to do.

Our thoughts are with you on your loss. No words truly help during this time but remember the good times. Also you had the opportunity to help your friend when the decision albeit incredibly difficult had to be made .

Sorry about your dog, that's a tough thing to do. Probably what was best for the dog is not the easiest for the person.
