R.I.P. Curly Neal

Mar 26, 2020, 4:18 PM

the long-time Harlem Globetrotter and maybe the best ball handler/dribbler that ever stepped on a court

another slice of youth passes... never forget seeing them as a kid. Meadowlark Lemon was the main clown, but Neal and his dribbling stole the show for me

That is very sad to hear. :( I loved the Globetrotters when I was a kid. Curly, Twiggy Sanders, Meadowlark, Sweet Lou. So many great memories.

:(

That was when people actually dribbled.

Sadly, his skills would be irrelevant in today's game where dribbling has been replaced with carrying and running with the ball. R.I.P. Curly Neal, one of the greats.

My favorite Globetrotter as a kid. Thanks for posting.

He also liked solving mysteries. He joined up with Scooby Doo to solve a mystery.
RIP Curly

Our parents took us to see them at the Greenville Memorial Auditorium in 1972-3-ish, I think it was. Loved them. The bucket full of feathers, then the bucket of real water.... great gags.

Thank you for the memories, Curly.
