Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I go to South Beach often...

I can recommend a few:

The Clemson Alumni official hotel is the Shore Club. Guys, this place is really nice. It's the eppitome of "cool". The outdoor bar area is my favorite, anywhere. The hotel is right on the beach, and it's walking distance to everything in South Beach.

The team is staying at the Fontainbleau. It's also a very nice hotel, on the beach. However, it's not really walking distance to much. It's a few miles north of South Beach.

For some smaller boutique hotels withing walking distance to everything in South Beach, try

They have several nice hotels that may be a little less expensive, but still very trendy. I've stayed at the Catalina, and Tradewinds. The Catalina is has a rooftop bar and pool, and is somewhat of a party place. Tradewinds is quieter, with larger rooms, but still walkable to everything.

For a change of pace that is about 35 minutes from Miami, Hollywood, FL is up and coming. They have a fantastic beachfront "Broadwalk", with lots of restaurants and bars. I can recommend the Marriot Beachfront. It has a nice beachfront bar, and great beds. One of my favorites in Hollywood, is a quaint little privately owned place on the beach, called Sea Downs. I really like it. Some of the rooms are apartment-style, with full kitchens and living rooms.

Good luck, and Go Tigers!
