I disagree with the vote Senator Romney

Feb 6, 2020, 8:00 AM

cast to remove the President from office for abuse of power. I do not believe the House of Representatives demonstrated enough that the President committed a "high crime or misdemeanor" worthy of removal. But I respect the Senator's decision to vote according to his conscience at likely personal and political cost. We need more lawmakers who think in that manner, as opposed to voting based on what a party or another person wants.

There is a stark "1" in the column of Republicans voting to remove the President. Though the Senator and I disagree on this issue, it makes me consider if I would take a stand for what I believe is right, even if I were the only one standing. I pray I would be faithful and bold to do so if it came to that.

races tend to never fully recover from the loss, go a bit off the deep end afterwards, becoming aberrant and unpredictable. Cited latter careers of Gore, McCain, Romney. Not sure who else would be on that list, Kerry I suppose. Hillary for sure.

Not sure how bounded in fact this is, but would be an interesting read on the lives of those who got to the edge of being President but didn't quite make it.

I’m pretty sure you’d get a kick out of it. :)

people to know his reasons, and I'm sure he anticipated there would be great interest. All told, I can't know his motivation.
