I dont get the Backpack thing.....

I know you get to wear it on a turnover but what does it signify ? How is the turnover connected to a backpack ? I feel like I a gonna feel really stupid when someone tells me the answer , which must be something really obvious, so forgive me ahead of time.

What does Dora have to do with a turnover ? What does a backpack have to with a turnover ? Does it mean that , by making a turnover , you sent them packing ?, I am just looking for the supposed connection..

I would avoid getting a turnover just so I don't have to put on the backpack. What's next, you get a turnover and you put on a fanny pack

because it's one of the stupidest, most nonsensical things I've ever seen.
I just don't see a major college football player thinking he's being rewarded for a turnover by getting dressed as a kindergartner headed out for his first day of school.
