That is the way it is said throughout the midwest. They "warsh" their clothes. I listen to it every day in Ohio.

Why do people say Californya, Carlina, Georga,Clempson, Clemzon, Clumbia, Westminister(it's Westminster), Senecur, Walhaler, Greenvul. In short there is standard English, but most people adopt their local dialect when speaking because they have heard it since they were a child. These same people usually write in standard English.

Nov 25, 2017, 9:27 AM

won't worry about it. Then you can focus on the Olmfics (that's the one that kills me). Good garsh, see if you can go to the Google on your winders operating system and figger it out. Then send pitchers.

Nov 25, 2017, 10:24 AM

To the educated it's been well known for hundreds of years..

Nov 25, 2017, 12:09 PM

that a prominent Boston mayor on vacation to Florida stopped in Georgia for gas and while visiting the toilet out back the station screamed at his unruly children to get back in the car. In his excitement he lost the 'R,' in car, pronouncing it 'caa.'

As the story goes a fine southern lady who was next in line was on her way to Charleston found the 'R,' placed it in the wash to remove the stench of yankee. We southerners have refused to give that 'R,' back because it hasn't been taken from the wash yet.

Really guys, you can't make this stuff up.
