I caused a Coot meltdown last night.....

May 9, 2012, 9:14 AM

A ####### coot coaching 9-10 baseball down here in Pawleys had a big time meltdown. His team beating mine 6-1 and he's in the dugout crowing which pisses my son off. Cameron is on the mound and shuts 'em down. We proceed to start hitting the ball, getting guys on base and tie the score. Then my guy on 3rd steals home for the go ahead. We win 9-6 and he goes ape chit. Displaying that coot class in front of his players and parents by pissing and moaning how we stole the win from him. 7 hits in two innings and 8 runs because my men did not quit!!!

I hate to see a grown man cry unless it's a POS coot!!!

1. Never give up
2. Never be a coot
3. It's always fun to beat a coot

Screw Calford.

Similar thing happened to me - except

May 9, 2012, 10:48 AM

It was basketball and the coach acting the fool was wearing a Clemson shirt.

He went nuts on one of his own players because he was late to the game ( because his parents didn't get him there on time.).

He showed his butt in Front of a 7- 8 year old team and their families.

You didn't say anything about the score????

How do you know if the was not always late? If your going to play be ON TIME and yes I've coached 8 and 9 yr olds

Many of these kids coaches try to act like they are BIG

May 9, 2012, 10:59 AM

TIME. They allow the game to be about them instead of about the kids - interjecting themselves into the game rather than just coaching/teaching the kids.

It's usually sad to watch.

EXCELLENT point. I coach soccer and I had a problem with being too vocal. I picked up a clipboard and started making notes during the halves. Then I address the team and individuals at the half and end of the game.

dude, nothing better than having your kid's sports team beat

May 9, 2012, 11:24 AM

another adult's sports team. It totally validates me as an individual and makes me realize that, yeah, I probably could have made the big leagues if I hadn't tweaked my knee junior year.

"How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?... Yeah... Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind. "

Actually, if you're a Tnet member, it means you are now qualified to criticize any D1 coach in any sport.

I wish our baseball team could do the same thing against the gamecocks, then we would not be bragging about something like this. Sad IMO.
