It would all be speculation at this point, and that's assuming it's true.
But if we are going to speculate, maybe the thus far train wreck transition process we've seen since the election? Maybe the appointments?

One of the things that might change my vote would be that Trump hasn't had a news conference since becoming PE. This lack of transparency is inexcusable IMO...and no, tweets don't count. The news conference he had scheduled for this week, in which he was going to explain how he would divest himself from his businesses, was postponed. To me, this is a huge issue and one that could follow Trump throughout his time in office if he doesn't handle it correctly. He could have put this issue to bed, but now the electors will cast their votes not knowing whether these issues will be handled in a satisfactory manner. Just a few things...

Obama having a press conference 3 days after being elected was about as useful as if Trump were to have one.
What would anyone get from it that would be useful?

But they definitely are crooked and hungry to maintain power, which is something Trump threatens for the establishment. Given the chance, I think they would flock to a traditional GOP choice.

But if this particular sequence could be a reality going forward, I'd still go down that path, as the potential damage of a Trump presidency outweighs the potential damage to the perception of our government waffling on leaders. That's just my opinion, of course.

What "potential damage" are we talking about?
Stuff Like doubling our national debt? Approving useless and ill planned "stimulus" money? Illegally put thousands of guns into the hands of drug dealers and criminals? Giving millions in tax dollars to campaign contributors and lobbyists, under the ruse that they money is for “green” energy? Train wreck our healthcare system for everyone, in order to insure <10% of the population? Target his political enemies with the IRS? Racially divide our country worse than it has been since the civil rights act?
Do you mean stuff like that? Yeah..I wouldn't want a president to do that, either.

You think the House would put up Ted Cruz. He did come in second. Nope. They'll probably want to put up Jeb and the best a conservative could hope for would be Rubio. And we will be one step further down the road to the banana republic we're becoming. But this does show how full of #### Hillary was and how liberals operate. Everything that gave us Trump is embodied in these tactics.
Personally, if I were an elector and someone approached me to blackmail me, or whatever, I'd be sure to keep a good record of it. I'm sure many are.

He wasn't my pick either. But I'll be ###### if I'd take anyone else winning based on electors being blackmailed. This type of stuff is why you get a Trump elected. Now shut up and live with it. Because if you don't, in 4 years you'll get something far worse than Trump. Just like Trump's nominations for his cabinet now only need 51 votes in the Senate. You reap what you sow. You made your bed, now lay down in it.
