is a MAJOR question for me. It looks like our basic MO on punts is to just field the ball and fair catch with Humphries. We get all of these skill guys and we can't get someone who is a threat back there to return? That blows my mind.

when we get a stop, we don't want to give it back...

I suspect when Scott takes over, you'll see more returns, but I have no problem with it now.

Why field it all then? I say we just let them punt it and let it roll, considering the risk associated with fielding the punt is probably the biggest potential area for a turnover.

given the distance of the punt and the coverage being on top of the return man every time. The one time he didn't fair catch it, he should have.

We can't block to set up a return. That is the problem. Not the return guy.

Same thing on kick off's. The kicking team is on top of our returner soon after he gets the ball. Hard to mount much of a return, I don't care who you have back there.

When we kick off, our guys are no where to be found when they catch the ball. One of three things, we keep kicking line drives, our kick off team is slow or they don't know how to get off of blocks.

Bottom line....we give away too much yardage in the kicking game. Until we commit to being excellent in that area, we will be spotting the opposition too much field position. Remember the Georgia game in the second half?
