I bet there aren't many

On Tnet who can truthfully say that they saw Jackie Robinson play in the majors! One of my fondest childhood memories. Thanks Dad!

He was a true trailblazer and a brave man. Great athlete also.

Hell, never made it to Woodstock, either.... thanks for rubbing it in! ?? Seriously, that's a memory to treasure.

Lightbulbbill and I were talking our Clemson days and Banks McFadden and Fred Cone - who I 'worked for' at Fike back in the 70's - and back then, they were 'just two good guys'. Then, as I got older and started paying attention to (Clemson) history - I realize I was in the company of legends! Probably better I DIDN'T know it at the time....

^^^Dang - thx for mentioning Woodstock. A ton of my friends went there, but most (ok - all) of them did drugs and I didn't, so I stayed home. I'd probably be doing drugs today if I had gone, but dang, that would have been awesome.

Hung it up in 1957 and Woodstock wasn't until -1969.

Hardly the same times and certainly not the same memories!
