More on Jabril Robinson

After watching his film

Jul 20, 2013, 6:27 PM

He looks and play a lot bigger than 256 pounds. 12 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 20 tfl. When he gets rated he will easily be a 4 star by all the major recruiting groups.

Grady Jarrett ...

Jul 20, 2013, 8:12 PM

... was a borderline 2/3-star guy according to Rivals. This may be another one who disproves the rating system and becomes a force on the DL.

When these guys are solid commits...

Jul 20, 2013, 10:12 PM

many schools are reluctant to offer. We know the recruiting service rate a player according to who recruit him and not particularly what his potential really is.

Had they the skill to determine the worth of a player they'd be working for a college program not in front of a keyboard in granny's basement.

That's a good point. Recruiting coordinators at the big schools make something like $250k now.

Makes ya wonder

It's apparent that Dan Brooks loves this kid

Jul 20, 2013, 6:31 PM

I trust his evaluations of DT talent all day.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Needed to see more before making decision? Unless his offer

Jul 20, 2013, 7:18 PM

Sheet is wrong, he should of committed the second he got an offer whenever that was.

Time to see ecu and Charlotte? Those facilities must be superb .....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ya think he might have garnered more interest his sr year?***

Is it just me or was the best part of this guy's film was when he was on the o-line and he just pummeled kids while run blocking? Always great to get a big nasty!

Not just you. He LITERALLY ran over a kid.***

Does anybody know what level of high school this is? I mean if he's running over puny little private school kids then thats not nearly as impressive.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The level of competition is always a good question when it

Jul 20, 2013, 7:28 PM

comes to recruiting on the lines. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on it so I'll digress from making any assumptions.

Not private school but 2-a here is not good football . You'll have 140 pound running backs and 180 pound lineman--

However, might want to trust the coaches on this. Didnt Gaines come same type of environment??
I've got my season ticket money on Brooks and Veneables being able to evaluate!!

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep. In this case, I think it's about 'motor'.***

Yeah I agree and trust the coaches completely. I was just curious on the level of competition on film. Also, is this commitment shocking and/or random in a sense? Haven't seen his name appear except to say he committed. Has a good motor and will probably be a work in progress, so Im happy.

He must be very good, or have a ton of potential. There's only room for a couple more for this class.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Some believe he goes to prep school

Jul 21, 2013, 6:10 PM

So maybe it'll count towards 2015...but who knows.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I believe that's where he ends up

Jul 22, 2013, 9:57 AM

based on grades and him needing more time to become a better player. This is not a very good get at all. And taking him so quickly leads me to believe that the coaches feel they arent going to hit on any of the better DT's we're after right now.

Who do you think you're fooling?***

I saw a lot (100%) of arm tackling in his video. He can't do that at the next level and be successful. Hopefully he can be coached up.
