So my kitchen floor is starting to sag.

Apr 7, 2020, 1:07 PM

It's located right above a finished basement. I think the flooring trusses are no good (obviously). Trying to get some quotes from a few companies (if any are open) to fix it.

Anyone had work like this done in their house? Any idea of how much moneys I'm going to be out?

Homeownership is kinda dumb

I thought the same thing, but that would be right in the middle of my basement room where I watch football and such.

Temporary column then sister the floor joists

I have often wondered myself, just as I lease a car, the baller 5 bedroom condo life would be awesome too.
No maintenance, no worry, no resell issues, just pack up and leave.

The money I have made on houses, just goes right into the new one and then typcially completely eat up with bringing that house up to speed and making it our own. Rarely has a substantial amount gone into college savings or savings in general.

Save me the hair pulling about no mortgage and stuff, I am just saying it could be really fun and less worry.

install one of these:

You get to the basement quicker, and then your wife can put on a show for you when you get down there.

Spanner beam beneath the whole set of joists. You can support it on the outer edges instead on center column style. Box in with sheetrock afterwards

your basement?

How long is your kitchen measuring parallel to the front wall of your house?

Happens as you get older, nbd.

Don't let it stop you from looking at other younger, firmer kitchen floors.
