The Drive Back from NOLA

Jan 15, 2020, 4:02 PM

The drive down was uneventful but the drive back was an adventure to say the least.

Major fog along I-10 on Louisiana until about Mississippi

Monsoon rains on I-65 south of Montgomery and north of Montomery on I-85 to almost Georgia

A back road trip to avoid an accident blocking I-85 just south of Newnan, Georgia (I hope no Tiger fans were involved in that)

Rush hour traffic in Atlanta that took about an hour to get through.

During the drive back, I chose not to listen to any sports stations on the radio so I didn't hear anything the talking heads had to say. The drive just gave me time to reflect on the game and to fully get over the loss. I also was thinking about how good things have been and will continue to be. Go Tigers!!

There's something in these hills.

Two years ago...

on the drive back, we got stuck in Atlanta traffic for nearly two hours. Accidents galore on 85 and 285. We finally just stopped at a restaurant to wait it out.

This year we got stuck at the airport for hours due to flight delays related to the fog/weather.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I also did not listen to any sports talk radio coming back.

Did that 2 years ago, did not enjoy it.
