Merely speculation on my part...

but I expect that he saw he was being recruited over. It is a shame that he is leaving as he showed promise toward the end of the season. He likely never would have been a starter but I think he could have been a very solid player off the bench in his junior and senior seasons. Solid players like Tyler are good to have for depth.

season. That does hurt as far as experienced depth for next season.

I agree, he seemed to have a nose for the ball***

You must not follow basketball much. Everytime he got the ball in crucial situations, he looked like a deer in headlights. I didn't see him wanting to put up the J much.. thank goodness. He wasn't ACC material.

Previous transfers have been missed....

while I don't think this hurts as bad as Cheyenne Moore or Troy Mathis leaving, I think we need more solid bench play rather than less. And Tyler was turning into a solid player off the bench. But if J. Powell returns to form (recovers from knee trouble), Sykes continues to develop, and Grant comes in and contributes as a frosh next year, I could certainly see Tyler's minutes not expanding. So, maybe the writing was on the wall.
I guess this opens up another scholarship for next year.
But I certainly wish Tyler the best and am certain that he'll end up becoming a force at a different school. Better to transfer now and have a few good years ahead of you rather than waiting until it's too later.
Still confident about the Tigers' b-ball future, but hope the annual transfer ritual will soon become a thing of the past.

i dont see it as a loss at all

he played decent near the end of the year but would play less in the future with the recruits coming in...peace homie and good luck to wherever you go

Re: How are we going to make up for the 1.2 pts and 1.4 reb

that he averaged a game?

Oh well, I am sure Purnell will think of something.
