competition from another network to allow viewers to tune away from this SEC spin? I can think of 10 other people that would be as good or better analysts than DH, CF, and LC (admittedly Corso has lost a lot of his entertaining intrigue with his health decline)... Kirk is top-notch, but also rather unbiased.
I know the biggest obstacle is the big money Disney can offer to the schools for their games, but other conferences need to wake up and understand the landscape should change considerably with the playoff system. That, and another 1-2 networks that could provide airtime for other teams would change a lot in the minds of the press and recruits. It would also help solidify the allegiances to the conferences. I almost wish the ACC, Big 10, and Big East would get in discussions with NBC and Fox about establishing other another college football Saturday kickoff show with follow-up games... Shouldn't be any more collusion than ESPN and the SEC/Longhorn networks. It may mean sacrificing money Disney can offer now for much larger dividends (and more parity) in the future.
