How much $ are athletes leaving on the table

Oct 2, 2019, 10:56 PM

By not getting to work a job while in school?

That seems to be a talking point.

When I was in college, I had a part time job that paid minimum wage.

Just as a student, I barely made enough for gas, pizza, etc.

And ended up with a loan from the debt.

Athletes are coming out way better all the way around already.

It the socialist mentality. The “employer” needs to provide all the work, tools etc..... then give up all their profits.

The new Cali rule will help a limited few. But it will end up taking the financial support of many.

When they start allowing this across the board.... I won’t give another dime to athletic scholarships.

Right there with you. The wife and I have already discussed it. We've already decided that even if it means giving up season tickets and just watching on TV until we're fed up with even that, we're out.

and rightfully so, yet ANOTHER small worm.........

in the cans of worms that this "fair pay for play" act opens that seemingly NOBODY thinks about.

it's a snowball effect.

the Stipend, (which in theory i'm ok with) was the cookie that was given to the mouse, and so it begins.............

Sounds like I got a shot at getting better parking before too long. And I hope the guys who are not giving another dime have seats in the lower bowl. If so this could be a bonanza for lots of people.

While some players have complained, the true genesis for pay

Oct 3, 2019, 7:21 AM

for play are the SJW’s (stirred up by the ‘liberal socialism movement’) that sees college athletes as being exploited and used by the greedy capitalists to amass (their) fortune and fame.

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

Yep. They get compensated rather nicely already.***

Agreed, most kids leave college with a huge

amount of debt. Players just being able to leave college debt free puts them ahead of the majority but most of the ones doing the complaining don’t value the education.
